Free Prosperity Spell

I am going to get in trouble for sharing this but here it goes!

You don't need to pay for a spell. You do not need to pay someone for casting prosperity spells on your behalf.  Read it, repeat it, and keep on reading.

You can do it yourself with things you likely have in your house or nearby.

Real Witch Craft

Everyone has different beliefs around magic and what it is.  Magic in connection with modern day witch craft doesn't look like it does in the movies.  You don't  have to waive a magic wand, you don't need to brew a potion in a pewter cauldron for a month either.  Those things are fiction, real witchcraft isn't as spectacular,  Magic can be best described as intention.  The magic comes from inside of you and I like to think the powers of the universe too. Some people suggest witchcraft magic is really just the placebo effect.  Maybe it is the powers of the universe or maybe it is just the magic of my own belief.

Getting Started

In my previous blog I made mint scented candles.  Now you know why I made the candles, it is for this spell.  You can use any candle you have around, preferably green as green corresponds with money and prosperity.  A white candle can be used in place of any color so if you don't have a green candle, don't sweat it, use a white one. The next ingredient is the herbal element.  I am known as a green witch, so my spells always involve herbs in some capacity.  In this case, when I made the candles, I infused it with peppermint essential oils and my intentions of course, to make a prosperity candle.

Dressing the Candle

Some practitioners will add in tiny pieces of corresponding herbs or anoint their candles with oils. You can do this, but be careful not to leave the candle unattended.  Pieces of herbs can catch fire as can extra oils so handle with care and caution.  Oils are flammable and you are working with an open flame.  This is the main reason why when making my own candles I added the essential oils to my wax.  Again, proceed with caution as there is a very specific ratio of essential oils to wax that you can add before you are making a wax fireball.  Whatever you decide to add to your candle is your dressing.

Magical Herbs

Herbs that are known to have magical correspondences with prosperity include mint, cinnamon, dill, ginger, patchouli, and pine.  This is by no means an exhaustive list, they just happen to be the most common items I have near me.  Being a modern witch, I do have the power of the internet, if I am searching for a substitute, I can look online for an answer.  There's nothing wrong with that.  Most witches aren't really sitting at home with a huge 500 year old grimoire written in some archaic language like in the movies, we use the internet!   You will find that rather than following a spell recipe written by some ancient witch, most of us keep a journal and learn spells by creating them and learning from other witches.

Making the Connection

The next step is to make the connection.  See the herb you have chosen in your mind's eye, see it's connection to what you are seeking.  Here's an example of how this works for me.

I visualize the plant in my garden.  I can see how it spreads, far and wide.  I think of  how I want my prosperity multiply like the many leaves of this incredibly prolific plant.  Next, I rub a drop of cinnamon oil on the side of my candle to speed up the spell. Cinnamon can be used in prosperity spells and for accelerating spell work.  I engrave a dollar sign on the bottom of the candle.  Then I light the candle.

Cast your spell

For this part, you can use an incantation if you would like.  I usually approach this almost like a prayer submitting my will to the powers that I am working with.  Other people like to use pre-written spells.  I will include and example of one I found in a book.  I will also include the reference information at the end of this article for your reference.

"Bless this scented candle that burns so bright,

send prosperity and abundance tonight." (1)

It's simple, sweet and to the point.  You can repeat it as many times as you see fit while visualizing what you are hoping to gain from the spell.

Okay, now what?

You're done your incantation.  Now you have a candle that is burning.  The opinion among witches is very much divided on this one.  Personally, I make my candles small so I can burn them all the way down in one sitting and let it go out on it's own.  That isn't always possible or safe, depending on the candle you are using.  Some practitioners feel very strongly that you have to burn all of the candle, others say you can either blow it out or snuff it out.  Believe it or not, there is a debate about that too.  To each their own.  I blow it out if I can't wait for it to burn out.  I don't have a snuffer and I haven't seen one of those near me since I was a kid. The spell has worked for me regardless as my focus was not on all my props but on my intention.

Once you're done the magic, the work isn't over.  Any good witch will tell you, magic is only part of the process.  You need to do what is reasonable to make your situation better too.  Cast your prosperity spell then clear out your garage and have a yard sale! Go to work and ask about over time hours.  Offer to mow lawns on the side.  Do something to help yourself too.  Remember, when it comes to witchcraft, like attracts like.  You've got the magical edge, now do your best to work with it instead of against it in the mundane world.
